Funny thing about all this is that these women forgot who invented the original Bra.
That's right, it was a woman
She formed it out of 2 white handkerchiefs, I think both for support and to cover up a
somewhat transparant blouse. I read the story long time ago in the book
"Extraordinary Orgins to Everyday Things". Look it up. Interesting reading.

Well, it's a good story, but as women have had breasts for a very long time indeed, surely someone invented something bra-like before they invented handkerchiefs - a case here of too many hankerchiefs and not enough hankerindians - perhaps. And yes, it stands to reason that whatever was invented and whenever that it should be a woman who invented it. We had the problem after all and clothes making was left largely to the sisters in any case.
Of course the alternative, like the Amazons (if the story is true - surely a big 'if') was simply to remove the breast altogether, admittedly in the Amazons' case only the right one, so that they could shoot arrows straighter.
Quite what the menfolk and children made of such lopsidedness is not recorded. But it would have made for interesting dressing.

I read about the Amazons . They are mentioned in Herodotus Histories and were a tribe of warrior women who lived in the Black Sea area without men ( they mated with another tribe of men when necessary). Maybe it was good time for trannies who could boast that they had cut off both breasts so they could fire arrows with both left and right arms?
You are right about the shoes in Northampton. They made a film there " Kinky Boots" which is quite a good film about trannies . I love dthe last scene when the tgirls put on a show at the Milan Fashion show.
